tried it on my 1933 III
it works juuuuuuust fine
My guess is that it could need fine tuning between the opening of the slits and the width of the film leader to get a good placement relative to the sprockets, and a free release at the end of the film.

Are you still happy with your tulip? I've just got one from Don, but my M2 isn't here yet. I suppose I'm really looking for reassurance that once it's in place I can pretend my M2 is an M4

sorry, can't tell you.
My M2 is waiting for its (repainted) plates.
I am happy with Don's conversion of my other M2 and it does work like an M4.
Just notice that the tulip placed over the regular spool will never feel like the M4 tulip, since the center axis is still there and it kind of gets in the way. Still very workable and so easy to implement...
