M2 viewfinder approx. angle of view

I spent an hour looking for the same answer. I read somewhere that the 28mm framelines were right up on the edges of the M2's viewfinder (in a modified M2), so I figured with the inexact nature of framelines in general that 28mm would more or less be useable, but anything wider would need a finder. But this would need to be confirmed, I didn't ask because I don't have the scratch to buy a 28mm yet 🙂

I think a lot depends on the photographer's eye - if you have deeply inset eyes or a protruding brow you won't see as much as someone with a shallow eye socket.

For me, it's about 28mm.

I just made a small (not scientific) test yesterday, at about 1.5 meters I framed using the whole viewfinder (with my eyes really close to the camera) and the photo I got was a bit wider than what I had framed (I would say about 7/10%).
I would admit that it is possible to frame like this, but it isn't so comfortable like using the 35mm frame lines.

Regards

(gray part wasn't completely framed)
