Oh yeah! I got the leather from cameraleather today!

Finally the M2 looks like a real camera again.

I did quite a good job putting it on. I need to finish it a bit to make it look excellent but already it looks nice.
The leather looks really nice and feels very good. Grip is firm

OK. The M2 is pink now!
Let me hear your wise cracks. :)

What better colour is there?
Black is boring. GB Racing Green ain't cool. Red is too bright. Cobalt Blue is too bright as well. Grey is... well, grey.

Brown could be nice, though. I walked around with no vulcanite or leather covering for a few days. The body was brown with rust(?) and glue remnants(?), making the body brown.

If I ever get tired of the Paradise Pink I might be tempted to get the Cognac, Lavnder, Violet Paradise, Mauve or Cocoa Paradise snake skin leather.

Ain't I a Phillistine? :)

Pink?

Pink?

Don't know if I like the colour...did you really do that or is it photoshop :p

speaking of which, how about a little Andy Warhol treatment :D

Well, how does it work?

And, um, it doesn't matter how quiet that shutter is...

nice one RML, that colour is sure going to get some comments :D ... I think your very brave ..hehehe

I'm not sure if you have seen but there are a few skins on the camera leather site not shown on the 'Colors & Materials' page if you have a good poke about, I think the matte brown Ostrich would look v nice on your M2, I've got my eye on the 'Antiqued grey lizard' just below it for my next black FED2 I want to rebuild.

I'll give you credit, RML. you've got balls. I admire your fortitude to go with something you like regardless of the prevailing attitude that pink is for a "girlie-man". (spoken with an strong Austrian accent in imitation of Arnold Swartzeneger - it's a seminal term spoken by him in one of his movies.)

Laika, that Austrich Brown looks nice indeed. And it's quite similar to the rusty, gluey body colour I tried to describe. I think you'll like the result.

Frank, I have no doubts about my sexual orientation and I don't care much if people "label" me this way or that. My wife will no doubt admit to my preferences. :) Anyway, I thought the pink leather might be a nice change from the regular black leather. All my cameras are black (though some with chrome) and this one really stands out. My little girl likes to shoot at times. I'm wondering what she'll make of this pink camera. :)

Brian, you want me to cover him up in rough black leather and "come out" at home in bright pink? Maybe I can put a black leather cap on it, with silver chains perhaps? Where will the moustache go? :)

All joking aside, I'm rather pleased with the leather. It's a really nice investment at $50. And though pink might not be to everyone's taste, there's probably one that you like amongst the other leathers available.

I am sure your daughter is going to make that a great investment in the very near future.

Well Remy, I admit with some others here to shock at seeing a Leica with pink leather. But I also admit to putting a black no-nonsense Glock pistol in a bright-pink plastic holster. There's just something amusingly incongruous about it. OTOH, it is normally concealed from view, hidden like underwear, not revealed to public admiration as your M2! I'll be interested in your stories of people's reactions! :-D
