I'm going on a road trip and not sure if I'll need it, but I'm wondering if anyone has charged their M240 battery with the connector to their car.

The manual states- "The car charging cable may never be connected while the charger is connected to the mains." I don't know what that means. It's the only precaution I see mentioned.

Is there any chance of damage to the M240 battery using the car charging cable? I assume you would charge it while the car is running, or does it matter?

Thanks...

Lost in translation. In German it says:

"Das mitgelieferte Kfz-Ladekabel darf keinesfalls angeschlossen werden, solange das Ladegerät mit dem Netz verbunden ist."

which translates to: the car charging cable should in no case be connected while the charger is also connected to the power grid (110 V).

Roland.

Outside the USA: 240V... The car does not need to be running, but most cars will shut off the lighter socket when the ignition is off.

I use it quite often on road trips that are 2hrs or longer. Because my power supply shuts off when the car is not running, I Only charge when I'm driving for at least 2hrs so as not to interrupt the process for a full charge. That's the only precaution I take.

It means u can only use the car charging cable in your car. Not to use it in lieu of the regular cable when plugged into a socket at your house.

My car has 3 power outlets and they're always live even with the key out, but I have never had occasion to use the car charging cord. I always start out with charged batteries (2) and in fact so far I've never exhausted even one of them in a day's shooting. That said, I never use auto review, rarely use the EVF or chimp.
