I drove with the family to Pensacola Beach last evening to observe the waves from Hurricane Nate (that did not make it to Pensacola). I took with me whatever I had in my camera bag then, and it happened to be the M240 with the pre-asph Lux 35mm. All images showed vignetting for some reason even though the M240 was set manually to 35mm/1.4 on the menu.
I left the color images as jpg in the end, while I made extra copies as B&W with PerfectEffects_9 software.

I also had with me my M8 with the 7Artisans 50/1.1. I took only 8 photos with the M8 and I took 29 images with the M240. The improved buffering time in the M240 must have played a role here. I can take photo after photo without "resting".

Thanks for sharing these Raid. I agree vignetting is fine! I like the relatively low contrast look in these images.

The slight vignetting just adds a little more drama to these shots, Raid.

I guess so. The weather was not as usual, and the air was not clear looking as if there was fog. I checked my lenses to make sure it was not fogged up lenses.

As you have said, David, the images look low contrast. Take into account that I have added contrast!

Nice Raid. I've never experienced a hurricane and these pics look ominous. I think the mild vignetting adds to the drama.

Raid, I guess the weather just helped to highlight the Leica glow :) On the serious note - trading my Lux was probably a big mistake... I hope you are safe in this weather...

A good series Raid, I specially like the second and the third one, we do not have such waves here (usually).

PS: nobody surfing? I guess it was forbidden due to the hurricane...

Thank you, Jim. We are getting used to having to be prepared once in a while for a potential hurricane hit. It comes with the territory, living at the Gulf of Mexico.

I am getting used to using the pre-asph Lux. It is a wonderful lens overall.
Thanks. We are safe.

Thank you, Robert. The streets were empty as we drove towards the beaches, and the restaurants were closed too. It felt as if the population living close to the beaches has vanished. Then you see a pizza delivery car! Someone must be holding a Hurricane Nate Party at home.

Most likely, surfing was not allowed. A red flag indicated stormy weather in the Gulf.
