Hi Jaap,
I sent him a Nikon S to be painted Hammertone grey about the same time you sent yours, I don't have my camera back either. I used the Tom A. connection a few months back and Shintaro replied that he is almost done and I should have my camera back soon....well that was October! Since then he has not answered any of my emails.
I am still keeping faith though.

just to let you know, I'm in the same position as you...he's got my M2 for almost a year now...about 5 years ago I had him paint my M3 and he only took 3 or 4 months...I can't believe he is taking this long and for a while thought he had decided to go over to the dark side and just collect money and Leicas and not send them back. He did reply to me and say that I would get the camera back in October, then December...I'm still waiting...say, how does one get a hold of the other black paint guy for future reference...
