M3 Question

When I shoot my M3 at the 1/8 and lower shutter speeds, I can hear a gear winding / unwinding after the inital shutter gear has fired. Its quite faint, but I just want to see if its anything to worry about.

This is normal.

I was expecting something like that due to it lasting about the duration of exposure time.
- Question though, the film advance, how should it normal feel?

Smooth without any binding..

If it feels like it is slipping or jumping gears it needs service..

If you look inside the camera as you wind you will see a bar that moves across. That final click is the bar setting, ready to fire.

... ratched ? The advance lever of my MP feels ratched at the end, not that smooth as the M3 or M3/M2.

Ah whatever, feels solid enough for me. Although, my F3 wind feels nicer for the most part, just not as classy as an M3.
