M3 with wide angle lenses.

Just want to verify something, say I buy a wide angle (wider than 50mm) lens screw mount, use an adapter to M, can I still focus it using the RF.
Has anyone here used a similar setup, with a viewfinder? I know I can scale/zone focus, just interested if the adapter brings up the 50mm framelines when used with a rf coupled lens and adapter.

Thanks,
Todd

Use the camera's viewfinder to focus, use the external viewer to show angle of view and to compose.

The 50mm framelines always stay up. The LTM to M adapters are keyed to bring up the various lines. The one marked 50mm will get the lines you want on the M3. If you get the one marked 35mm-135mm, it will bring up the 135mm lines on the M3 and leave the 50mm lines in place. But if you buy an M2 to go with the M3, up pop the 35mm lines.

There is also a m-to-LTM adapter which brings up the 90mm brightlines in an M3. Any of these adapters will work for mounting a lens of a different focal length, but the brightlines won't corrospond to the angle of view.
