New Voigtlander converters are about £36 ($US 71) inc tax and postage from Robert White which seems a lot for a fairly simple mass produced bit of machining. With customs and shipper handling charges Cameraquest adaptors are about the same.

Has anyone here tried the cheap M39 screw to Leica M bayonet adaptors sold on ebay? Hong Kong ones are under £5.

We Bessa users don't need to worry which frame line comes up on Leicas so a single adaptor fits all. Are the cheapies OK?

The frame lines are not much of a problem. The Leica and CV adapters are machined to very tight tolerance to ensure correct focuusing. The chinese may be but some are just cast.

i have a dvd technik one that sux (i believe it is from The Ukraine or Russia)

I have several different Japanese ones that work as well as the voigtlander one I have. I bought the Japanese ones second hand, and they seem to have some years on them. I don't know if newly made ones are the same quality.
