Many years ago I purchased a Leica M4-P, and Leica USA could not perform a CLA in a reasonable amount of time. They asked me if I wouldn´t mind telling them who I was going to send it to. when I mentioned Sherry they said, "You are in good hands, she does excellent work"

Thanks Guys!
Sherry also commented on my Rapidwinder II. She says I should use it sparingly, because it puts a strain on the delicate M4-2 mechanism. If I'm not using it, she says "take it off". Can't do that, since I sold the regular baseplate! So I will use the top advance most of the time, I do that anyway with M2/Rapidwinder.
Hope to have it next week.

I'd trade you the base plate off my M3 for the winder

Nah, I'm going to use the Rapidwinder II mostly as a baseplate. If I need to rack off alot of shots quickly, I'll flip out the advance lever, and use it as a Rapidwinder. That's how I work with M2.
Wish I had M42-2 for this weekend (big rock concert/gig).

M4-2 is back, looking really really good. She gave me some extra parts and alot of extra time, because she felt sorry for my overall experience. Bless her heart.
Camera overhauled.. WORKED ON .. Bad Job!! Light leak. Installed light shield on housing shell. Reglued curtains - were too far apart. Tension bushing was not locked in. Wrong lightshield on rangefinder - corrected. Rangefinder was sticking. Frame was oily and bent. Replaced frame. Synchro plug was broken and glued in - shorting. Replaced synchro block. Cleaned lubricated and adjusted to Leica tolerances.
The rewind knob was badly beaten-up and the rod was bent. She replaced that, too. She has my business from now on, I should have sent it to her, from the get-go.
Souping M4-2 back up with all my standard goodies, and loading with XX for lighttesting.

No light leaks so far. Nice clean frames are now the standard.
