I should think that it wouldn't be an optimal solution. Classical wideangle lenses tend to perform poorly with 4/3 cell. The best solution would seem to be the Lumix 1,7/20 mm or shockingly expensive Panasonic 7-14 mm zoom.

I tried with a fine Leica 2,8/28 mm wideangle with poor results. So I had to finde another solution.

The trick in using WA lenses on the m4/3 cameras seems to be making baffles between the rear lens and the sensor, blocking the excess light from reaching/reflecting on the sensor. Haven't tried myself yet, but I will.
The baffle must obviously have a cutout to allow the smaller path to the sensor.
I have seen examples that show greatly increased corner sharpness.

I came to the same conclusion (although, I didn't know that wide angle "classical" lenses performed poorly on M4/3 sensors). I considered a purchase of one of the wider CV lenses, but the cost and functionality of the 20/1.7 won me over.

when you scroll down you will see that it says that it has a baffle..

do you guys think this will solve the problem?

I've got both the 1.7/20 and the CV 4/21 color-skopar. Both of them are great lenses and they serve totally different purposes for me.

The 1.7/20 is great for low light shots and for autofocus function. While the 4/21 is great for scale focusing and easy access to aperture dial.

Sometimes I find the autofocus function to be a bit off although the GF1 has face detection and follow focus which is pretty nice sometimes.

I just made a thin black plastic baffle on the rear of my 35 Ultron. It enhances corner sharpness tremendously.
I guess the same thing applies for wider angle lenses.
