That's a NICE setup right there...the skin looks pretty cool!
Thx! I didn't like the polished high tech look without the skin. Now it looks very old-school-cool :)

The E-P2 and 20mm is such a great combination...fast focus and stabilization...just perfect.

How are you digging that Marco?
Yes, the 20/1.7 is nice. In fact, I didn't even consider the Olympus lenses, lol.

The Macro has surprised me: Very good bokeh when a blur is achieved. AF is accurate. AF gets fast when you engage the focus limiter for general shooting. It's quite a high end glass. The only thing I don't like is the rattle of the OIS mechanism inside the lens when the camera is turned off. It goes away when camera is on. This rattle is just the same as other Panasonics like the 14-45 and 45-200. Cheers.

Something I had not realised is that both the Olympus E-P2 and the Panasonic Lumix GF 1 have electronic accessory viewfinders (I cant recall seeing this advertised much I guess because its a bit of a niche market thing of no great interest to the great unwashed.) My main interest in the possibility of owning an M4/3 camera is to use my Leica M glass but would not consider trying this without a proper finder. The existence of finders makes this a reasonable possibility.

Has anyone here tried this on one of these cameras WITH the accessory finder? I would be interested in knowing how it works (e.g. does the finder show a focus confirmation mark and is it sufficiently high res to be usable ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Peter,
The G1 has the most advanced electronic viewfinder, which enhances the viewfinder technology in many senses, but for resolution because it does't uses a mirror. This doesn't mean at all that the image is "so so", not at all, since in case of low light the viewfinder lightens the image no matter if you are using a dedicated lens or an old manual focus lens. Therefore it is my personal opinion that the G1 EVF is a further technological advance over any other dslr viewfinder, including the detachabe ones of Panasonic and Olympus micro 4/3.

The only problem you will have with any of the micro 4/3 is that they convert the original focal length of any manual focus lens X2, meaning that you will suffer with the manual focus wide lenses.

The original Kit zom of the G1 will give you a true focal lenth of up to the traditional 28mm, although there are wider micro 4/3 zooms.

Cheers,
Ruben

So I just bought a canon ef to m4/3 adapter from hong kong. Very interested to see how my 35mm 1.4L performs on the e-p1.

The Voigtlander Color Heliar 75mm f/2.5 fits the GF1 like it is a standard lens for the camera.

I think we should make a new rule that if you post one of the cameras with an interesting lens (like a nikkor 50mm 1.2 or voigtlander 75mm) you should also post a pic taken with the combo.

hint. ;)

I adapted the COLOR - Yashinon DX 45mm F1.7 from the YASHICA Electro 35 GSN Rangefinder camera to my E-P1.
