M4-P With Loose Bottom Plate Latch

Took delivery of a very clean M4-P today. Problem is, the little key that one turns to release the baseplate doesn't stay in it's spot when the plate is latched on. Is there an easy fix for this? I'd really rather not have to roll around with a bit of tape on the bottom of my camera.

What exactly do you mean? Does the latch turn itself open? Or is it the small handle that allows to turn the one that doesn't stay in place?

I had the same issue with an M3. Basically the issue is the pin that holds the latch together, and it needs to be replaced. It's an easy enough task to do, the issue is what to replace the pin with...I took mine to a professional to handle, no idea what he used but he fixed it!

Easily tightened. By an expert. A special goose-neck screw driver required. Happened on my brand new M9-P in 2012.

Happened to my brand new a-la-carte M7 in 2012 as well...quite discontenting.

Easy fix indeed if you've got the tool.

Inside the base plate, I see a slot for flat screwdriver.
Maybe the screw was not tighten ?
