Hallo ! I have and use a porst oc (Cosina cs-2)
http://www.kamera-geschichte.de/files/porst_slr_compact_reflex_oc.htm

A feature that I find very useful in a camera is the DOF preview, and this camera lacks it, I'm thinking to get some M42 lenses just to try to shoot in stop-down (DOF preview always on isn't it?).

But...will I lose the aperture priority using a M42 to K adapter?
thank you

Andrea

I have a Pentax Spotmatic and a collection of Pentax M42 lenses. All of the Pentax Lenses I've seen have a switch on the lens to stop the lens down for that. I know some other manufacturers lenses didn't have that, but if you stick to lenses with a stop-down switch you'll have DOF preview.

Ok, thanks very much. I'll try it and let you know. I made some testing unscrewing my K lens (just a quarter turn) to force the lens to stop down, but this is not a very comfortable way to go. For testing it was ok, I was able to see the DOF and the darkening was not so annoying, so I realize that I would be able to shoot with some sort of DOF preview always on - (id est with m42 lenses) but I was afraid that the AP would not work anymore. As I said, I'll try. The truth is that what I really miss in SLR is to be able to see the full dof (to prevent including poles, signs, trash bins, people on the backgound....that I don't usually notice because of the large aperture that focus me on the main subject). Yes I know...it seems stupid to use a "wrong" lens to switch off a feature that I should like (focusing and seeing at full aperture...) but that's it.
ciao
Andrea
