Hi,
after getting my Summicron 28mm and mounting it on my M5
I was surprised to see a 28mm frameline. Before I shot mostly with my VC 35mm 1.2.
I bought the body this year in february from a private seller, don't know if the body had some previous modification.
Did Leica produces some bodys with the 28/90 frames?
Look at the pics which I made with my mobil!
I am the only lucky guy with such type of M5😀?
Waiting for your comments.
Greeting from the south of Germany
Michael

From the Head Bartender's site:

"The M2/M4/M4-2/M5 finders can be updated to the 28/35/50/75/90/135 finder system of the M6 as a standard Leica upgrade. "

I had the 28mm frameline added to my M2-R way back when the M4-P first came out so equipped. When you were getting a complete CLA anyway it wasn't much extra at the time.

My 2¢...

I wear spectacles all the time, so I would find a 28mm frame of little use because I can barely see the 35mm frame in my M5.
But with a 0.58 finder... now that is a thought.
I like the uncluttered finder of the M5, the 50mm frame is solo as well as the 90mm. If I get the chance, I am thinking of having the 135 frame removed from the 35mm frame when I get the next M5 CLA'd, as I doubt I will ever shoot a 135 on my M5, prefer to use the Nikon F when lenses get longer than 100mm.

Bob, do you shoot much with a 50 on the .58 VF? I had a MP .58 and while it was fantastic with my 35-25 lenses, I found focussing my summilux 50 was very dodgy with the low magnification.

No- the .58 is strictly for the wides. Usually a 28, sometimes a 35. I'm getting used to the .58/28, .72/35 & .85/50 as my usual, though the MP3 and M5 both get a lot of use with the 50's.
