M6 purchasing advice???

I met a fellow at the local camera show who offered a pre-ttl M6 still in box (NOS) w/ Int'l warranty. He offered the camera for 1,500 out the door. It's got thr .85 finder I'm looking for, but a little apprehensive in thinking it may be too good to be true. Any caveats on what to look for?
p.s. I should be able to use a 35mm Summaron on this camera without the goggles right? It does have the 35mm framelines. Please advise.

No matter what anyone else says, the goggled Summarons must be used with the goggles on any M series camera in order to focus properly. Removing the goggles and using the 35mm framelines may be why the Summaron seems to be underappreciated in Leicadom.

You can find an M6 Classic for less than that. Do you want the .85 finder? Were you able to easily see the 35mm framelines in it? When I bought my M6TTL I decided that I was uncomfortable making such a large purchase over the internet in a private sale so I bought from Tamarkin, a very well respected retailer in NYC. I paid just under $1500 for mine, TTL again, so dealers should have Classics for a little less than that. You can find them even cheaper from trusted private sales. Don't make my decision to buy from a dealer effect you, that was just a personal choice.

Are you in the US? If so, is an international warranty valid here or is it like other manufacturers who's international warranty is valid every where but the US?

$1500 is a bit too much for a class M6. Unless, the insurance itself cost $400....

Is he a Leica dealer? If not, would the warranty still be valid? I don't know.

$1500 is about $400 more than what you'd pay for a typical used M6. The camera you are looking at is mint like new in the box, and it has the somehwhat rarer .85 mag viewfinder. I'd say it's a fair deal, if you are willing to pay that premium. I have the same camera, though not like new (thank goodness) and the 35mm framelines are visible/useable. I wear glasses so it takes some moving around and I can't see all of the 35mm framelines at once, but that's fine by me.

Richard is right, you must use the goggles to focus properly. It is a mystery why they are removable.
