M6 TTL Off Position

I'm afraid you're wrong, Dick. While no drain may occur if the camera is left on a shelf, the moment you bag it and the shutter release makes contact with the meter, you're in for a surprise when there's no juice in the battery because it drained and died in the bag.

I'm speaking from experience. It even happened to me in Costa Rica, at a kinda remote location. Luckily, I had some batteries with me...

So, I learned my lesson. Now I turn the camera to the off position every time I'm putting it away or simply not using it.

Have a nice day and enjoy your camera! 🙂

Thanks, Francisco —

I am so meticulous I would never allow that to happen. Ha, ha. OK, I'll turn it off when not in use. I was thinking of getting a shutter release button extension to screw in and that would certainly magnify the chance of an accidental push.

I found out the hard way with a brand new set if batteries. They were drained after letting the camera sit on the bag for one night. On the plus side....I've not bought another set. Just use Suuny F16 for exterior. Hand held meter for interiors. It makes my life much simpler.

Same thing happened to me with my Bessa R with a Mini Soft Release attached. I wish that camera had a shutter lock, since unlike the later R models the meter can be activated without the shutter being wound.
