M6 vs M2 35mm framelines

Is there any significant difference between the 35mm framelines on the M2 and the M6?

I hear the M2 framelines are easier to see regardless of how your eye is placed on the viewfinder. Has anyone switched to the M2 just because of that?
 
They did get a bit smaller on the M6, to squeeze in that extra 28mm frameline in the outer margin. I found out that on an M6 they were fine for my 40mm Nokton, while on my M5 they were too large.

Other than that they should be pretty much identical.
 
In any case the 35mm frame in the M2 is much nicer, because the bottomline is complete and unbroken. In the M6 the bottomline only consists of two small indications in the corners to make space for the LED's of the lightmeter.

Yes the M6 framelines are smaller. The 50mm frameline of the M6 severely under-represents the actual field covered by the lens. It covers the same picture area as my 60mm Elmarit-R on my R6. The rest of them are "too small," but only the 50mm frame is "too damn small."

No, the framelines are not easier to see on the M2. I can see them all just as well on the M6; maybe a little better, since they are smaller. 😉

I really like the M2's design and will probably get one in the near future, but after your comments I think I'll also get a 50mm lens for it!

If you going for a 50mm lens then should really consider an M3.
They really do have the best Rangefinder for a 50mm lens.

Also... If your considering a 35mm in the future you can still use that on an M3 even though it only has the 50mm frame lines. (90 and 135 also)
