I'm so pumped...I just bought the 43mm lens for my 7II for a great price. I can hardly wait to get hold of this lens and put it through the paces. As soon as I get a scanner I'll post some examples. I'm leaning heavily toward the Epson 4490 or the 4990 scanner. Any comments?

Thanks and Best Wishes for the Season.

I've got a Mamiya 6 and an Epson 4990. Good results with the scanner although not in the same category as the Nikon 9000. I use Vuescan with it.

unless you are going to drop $1800, Epson is the only choice. The results are decent for the web, but not at all archival. You need to drum scan if you want a real backup.

What is "great price", if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks!

GDI,

I picked this lens up on e-bay for $1,030. It came with front & rear lens caps, the lens hood (it was broken so the seller ordered a new hood and had it shipped to me), the external vf, a UV filter and a Red #25 filter. The lens is in excellent condition, no scratches or dings, the glass is clear and clean, the external VF is fine and I have encountered no issues while using it. I am waiting to shoot some chromes so I can can view the results.

While this lens is not new I would rate it an easy 9. Based on the research I did prior to buying this lens I did not find a comparable copy for under $1,500. I am very pleased and think this represents a great price. The seller, GDI, was a pleasure to deal with.

Bob
