Well, after seeing all the wonderful Mamiya 7 images posted recently in the other thread, I caved and bought a 7II and 43mm (already had a 65mm which I kept when I sold my original Mamiya 7 (v1) to fund a Leica M7).
I do have a question about the Auxiliary finder though. As I bought this lens used, there was no manual. I notice the finder seems to suffer from flare pretty badly and compared to my Leica WATE Fraken-finder, is very low contrast. I realize it is just for framing, but nonetheless, i was surprised that the quality would not be better. Or did I just get a dud finder? I also notice that there are an additional set of non-contiguous frame lines in the bottom left and right corners of the finder. Is this for parallax at the closest focussing distance?

The 43mm viewfinder I've used is really dim compared to the Leica / Zeiss / CV finders for 35mm format. I don't think this is unusual, but then again I've never looked through one fresh out of the box.
