I just got myself a Hasselblad PCP80 projector with 150mm lens. I already had a bunch of 6x7 slides mounted in 6x6 Gepe slide mounts..... Put them in this morning, projected onto my wall.... AMAZING. I was literally speechless, as if I was seeing my photos for the first time. And best thing of all, no "popping" of the film. I was not using glass mounts. I feel so depressed that I can not achieve such beauty with my Coolscan 8000. The colors and sharpness are incredible. Velvia 50 has never looked so good.

Yep, there's nothing like projected slides. If you manage to find a good quality screen (is that the right word for it?) it will be even better.

The Mamiya you have to manually insert slide by slide and the "g" one costs a TON of money. I am going to scan my 6x7's and then trim them to 6x6 to fit the gepe slide mounts. They look to beautiful to not project them.

That's quite some investment. I wish I have the time and space for a projector.

Yes, me too. I have a Leica Pradovit RT-m, and it shocked me how good 35mm Leica slides look even projected quite large. The 6x7 must be on another level entirely. I have always been looking for a good deal on the pro-cabin, but I have always missed it for some reason. I like that you don't need to mount the strips in slides -- that is a problem for me since my print workflow is digital and my scanner doesn't like slides.

Even in 35mm Kodachrome slides look amazing projected. I expect other low speed slide films would also.
When I was young, everyone came home from holidays with slides. Unless edited carefully, slide nights were a bit of an ordeal for invitees. But there was no doubt about the quality and impact.

Take a photo of the projection on the wall! I want a taste of what I'm missing!

I'd have to take it with slide film to portray the color.... But then scanning would ruin the effect, forcing me to put the slide into the projector to see the quality of the slide which shows the quality of the projection on the wall. Of course, I would then have to take another picture. I'd have to take it with slide film to portray the.......
Good grief.
I'll take some pictures of my setup and post here. It really is a nice system.

Just send me your projector and film then, no need to complicate things!
