Had my M8 for a couple of days now.
All my lenses are screw mount, Voigtlander mostly.
Apart from this battered old girl thats been sat on my shelf waiting for such a moment.
Looks pretty sharp to me, (No ir Filter) glass is pretty dirty, aperture/focus so stiff the lens unscrews when you try to move them.
Who needs lens coating? I may have to invest in some more prewar glass.
Needless to say i am very pleased with my new camera
& old glass!

Hi!
That is really great! I have a pair of Elmar,s too. They ar a bit newer, but still they are from the fifties
The result is wonderful!
I hope you will enjoy your M8 as much as I do. It is just great!
Cheers Hans

Crop included.
File size does not do it justice really.
I know the highlights are blown! I just dont care. The results are so different to my normal fare.
The sun was shining through the Tulips afterall.
Do i need an IR filter?
Where does one purchase a 36/33 push fit IR cut filter from?

I think that I've got the same lens. Nice glow. Mine has screw threads on the front which fits a 34mm x 0.5 thread filter or hood. You could also get a SOOGZ A36 to 39mm x 0.5 thread adapter to put standard 39mm filters on it.
I have the SOOGZ on my Summaron 35 3.5, but I think it ruins the elegant simplicity of these earlier lenses.
I don't see any false color in your images, so you may not need a filter at all.

I just realized that you had a picture of the lens. It is the same lens that I have, so the filters and hoods that I mentioned will work. I have a newly made Japanese 34mm hood that I bought from a UK seller. I think it may have been "Jack the Hat", on ebay.
