M8 and cyan shift?

hi,

can someone give me a image example of what cyan shift is? i have been using a 15mm VC Heliar without any filter for about a week, and i haven't noticed any 'cyan shift'

then again, i don't know what a cyan shift looks like

If you use your lens with a ir filter you will see it Without the filter you wioll not. Though wothout your colors can be off with syntheticaa green grass and other times David

Ohhh... its a side effect of having an IR filter on?

The IR cut filters that work by interference, like B+W #486, cause the corners of the frame to have a cyan cast. This only happens with lenses with wider picture angle than 35mm for full frame cameras (if I remember correctly). Jorge's 15mm picture in this thread is an example:

Make a circular gradiant in ps complimentary to the shift. Try red to start. Move the sliders around so it starts where the cyan comes in.

Now apply in the center of the frame and it will cancel the cyan depending on how well you make the gradiant.
