Hello everyone.

I recently have bought a Noctilux. It is new. 1.0 Made like 2 years ago.

It was a good chance that i couldnt let go away.

I have seen many pictures made from this amazing lens but i am not an expert and i need some advices to know where can i start from.

The most Noctilux pictures i have seen are portraits. Its look is some kind of "magic" with its amazing bokeh.
I have practiced it with childrens overall and the results are very impressive.

But i think this lens has to have many other circunstances where its behave is superb.

Any advices or links where i can learn more "practical" uses for my Nocti?

Very thankful.

Peace.

Make sure the Noctilux works 100% with your M8 (it might be necessary to have it calibrated) and then ... practice, practice, practice ... 🙂

and practice some more....

i'm on my first days with this lens and have been using it in the street, practicing on anything and everything. sometimes stopped down (no ND filter yet) though the most fun is trying to shoot moving objects at f/1!

if you play around with it exclusively, you'll begin to see the possibilities. and i disagree that it is like any other 50 stopped down. to me, the bokeh is more pleasing. but that could be the lenses i have to compare it to (pre-asph Lux v.2 and the C-Sonnar) or perhaps because i'm using an older (1975) version of the Nocti.

Thank you!

Here a portrait of my cousin. It is difficult to focus perfectly at 1.0. The children moves a lot and they dont want to stay calm even for just 1 sec.

I have to make test with a rule to check if it has some back of front focus but on my own test with just my eye it looks good.
