Hello to you all,
I am about to sell all of my Canon gear for a Leica M8. I am tired of the weight and the too many custom functions. I have owned an M2 in the past and enjoyed the simple beauty of that camera. I went with a Canon for its digital ability, but now Leica have a digital M camera I am switching.
Something I am not sure about on the new M8 is its battery. Is it recharable or throw away?
Thanks

Rechargeable, the camera comes with a neat charge and connectors for the US, Europe and the UK. It can also be recharged from a car power socket which will be especially useful. The battery is good for more than 500 shots.

How much weight you'll save depends on what Canon gear you're hauling around. If you're using a rebel with a zoom lens you may not save that much.
