M8 crop factor...

I understand that you can code say an older version summicron 35mm to be recognized as such on the M8: regarding the 1.33 crop factor.

Is this true? I've been reading that coding your older lenses with a marker and template can correct vignetting, but this will allow a 35mm to act like a 35mm correct? (1.33 X 35= 46.55)

Coding has no effect on the crop factor. The M8 sensor is physically smaller than 35mm film.

I am not quite sure I understand your question. As theno23 said, coding has nothing to do with the crop factor. The corrections the M8 applies are specific for the combination of a certain lens with the M8 sensor. I.e. when using a coded 35mm Summicron ASPH on the M8, the M8 corrects whatever vignetting and colour drift that particular lens causes on the M8's sensor. The corrections for the M9 are different, because the sensor is larger. The two cameras do not apply the same correction routines - the corrections are specific for each camera, because of the different sensor sizes. The field-of-view you're achieving with a 35mm lens still remains that of ~ 47mm equivalent to 35mm film or full-frame digital, regardless of coding. Does that answer your question?
