M8+cv15=hqps

It is a great combination. I was able to attach a 39mm UV/IR cut filter to it, by turning it around and using small pieces of electrical tape on the filter mount to press fit it in to the lens built in hood. I turned the filter around to gain more clearance between the filter and the front protruding element.

I'm very impressed with your results. I've got the lens (for my Bessa L) but the camera is going to have to wait a bit longer before I can get one.
 
isn't this a screw mount lens? what adaptor do you use to put screwmounts on to M8? sorry, me not familiar with screwmount lenses 🙂

Please can you describe how mounted your 39mm filter?
What you mean you turned the filter around?
Does the filter fits inside the hood?

Maybe post some images.

I used a 39mm filter and a few blobs of silicone glue....a semi-permenant solution but, as I'm an M8 user, the IR cut filter needs to live on the lens....

The filter fits perfectly inside the hood and the 1mm or so of glue allows the filter to just clear the front element..

An older Leitz 9cm LTM adapter is ideal for this lens as it provides the necessary surface area to hand code if desired. The CV LTM adapters are OK if you don't intend to use a UV/IR cut filter, but they can't be had coded because the mount is cut away in the area used for coding.

Mario,

A 39mm filter fits almost perfectly inside the "hood" of the 15mm Heliar. I turned the filter around so the threads face outwards, as the the filter glass sits closet to the threads. This way when the filter is pressed in, there is some clearence for the front element. A little bit of tape, a piece where the hood would contact the filter mount is all that you need. I placed a piece inside on each of the 4 protruding hood segments, leaving a little sticking out, and pressed the filter in, then trimmed the excess that stood out. Fits nicely.

THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION!

I just went to my local shop and picked it up. with a 21mm voigtlander viewfinder, which is perfect interms of framelines.

this lens is awesome! perfect point and shoot camera. it is a bit slow but considering how close up you can shoot, its amazing. the real gripe about RFs is that most lenses are .7m minimum focusing, but this lens is .3m and with the apertature stepped up you can really do closeup pictures.

i love taking snapshots with my friends while at dinner or drinks, in close quarters, and this close focusing plus the wide angle is going to really kick ass! cant wait to go out and shoot.

ps. i picked up the CV adaptor.
