I think I already know the answer... but needed to ask.
On my M8, the focus is weird. I have had a rangefinder before.. ( A contax g2) and I loved it. I started with film and know what I am doing. ( I thought!)
So the image you see when you focus is doubled. And it is supposed to line up and be in focus. Well my two images never line up. One is slightly elevated. Since they are parallel they never align. One is slightly higher than the other. I can still get it in focus, however it is not as easy with this double image. Is this normal at all?
What are my choices if it is messed up? I really am wanting this to be in top shape for my Africa trip so I need to get on it.
When I bought the M8, I was out for a new one, however the place I frequent had none. They did have one used one which had shot 50 frames. The person returned it because they basically did not know how to use it. I got a great deal, and the place I bought it from is very reputable and will take it back or make the deal *right*. If I have to send it back to Leica so be it, but I am not going to spend an amount of money that could have paid for one brand new. I was perfectly willing to drop that amount when I bought this one, If I am spending new camera money, I want a new cam. Not a send-in-for-repair price.
Any advice is appreciated and I hope this is not a dumb blonde moment.
