M8/M8.2/M9 Question

As I watch the digital Leica scene evolve, I am wondering if either the M8, M8.2 or M9 will accept the older lenses. Specifically my 1961 model Summarit 1.5 lens....:confused:
 
Yes - all three will accept your lens and work well although with the M8 and M8.2 the image will be cropped by the small sensor. Even older thread mount lenses will work fine on these cameras with an adaptor. I tried my LTM 50mm summitar on my M8 yesterday and liked the results.

The only M-Mount/LTM lenses that CANNOT be used are the dual-range Summicron 5cm f2 and the Collapsible 9cm F4 Elmar. They will not mount and lock into position. Collapsible lenses are best left extended, although some can be safely collapsed.
 
Dave, my 1973 lux 35mm and equal aged cron 90mm work very good on the M8.
They don't give the same pictures as a modern ASPH, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. Not to me at least.
