I have generated alot of prints with my M8 (17"x22", Epson 3800, Exhibition Fiber) and am wondering what is the best method of storage, especially for those of us who have limited space and cannot use a huge print file with drawers (I have been keeping my prints in the original Epson boxes hidden under my beds and couches). I can see these prints are much more fragile than traditional darkroom prints, so they really need to be separated and not stacked on top of each other the way old darkroom prints can.

So what do all of you do, and what is the most cost effective way to store these prints?

Hmm, gotta say I stack them, but I got some tissue paper which I stick in between prints I care about, not sure if it does any good, but it makes me feel better.

The other thing I do a lot is stand the boxes on the side rather than laying flat, that have -so far- worked well, for some reason the prints have not buckled. guessing as long as there is not room to bend it will work. but can't say its a scientific concept. :D

Im subscribing to this hoping to see what smarter people than me have to say. :D

Reading recommendations of paper suppliers like EPSON, it is mentioned, to seal the prints of to surrounding air by mounting them behind glass, to minimize exposure to air for color fallout prevention.

I guess, this fits also to the storage of unmounted prints, using plastic sleeves for single packaging.

I am just starting, to do more bigger (13x19) prints by myself with archival pigment ink on heavier photo semigloss and fibre papers. So I have historically no experience with this.
I plan, to find fitting sleeves for the prints though, if the archive should grow without getting them out.
