Eyeglass wearer, my favorite framelines on the M8 are the 35mm. I want to use a 50lux on one camera for portraits and as a short tele.

Will a 1.25x magnifier increase the view of the 50mm framelines to something similar to what the 35mm framelines look like normally?

I used a 1.33 on my M8. The 35 framelines filled the viewfinder while wearing glasses. In fact, it was often too much magnification. The 50 mm frame was very comfortable as was the 90.

So, yes, 50 mm view becomes like a 35 mm view. It takes up most of the viewfinder if you wear glasses.

I did find that the magnifier was a PIA. But I used it outdoors in challenging conditions where it was prone to fog and dirt. Indoors in a studio setting, it should work just fine.

I have one (1.25) on my M8. Even with glasses, useful for 50/75 frames, or 90. It is not like an M3, but it works. I use it every time I mount a 50.
I have a chinese knock off. Original Leica mag, even if they are nice, are overpriced for what it is (I think).

I use the 1.25 magnifier on my M8 for the 35mm and up, however I do not wear glasses. It really fills the viewfinder with the 35mm frame lines which I really like. I can no longer see the 24mm frame lines which de-clutters the viewfinder window nicely. It makes the 50mm frame lines useful, otherwise I feel they are too small for me.
