M8 + new CV 25mm

I have had great sucess with the CV 25mm p but cannot get it to code! Still, I have no significant vignetting issues.
Coded as a 24mm Elmarit (011001). Note thicker black line represents positions 2 and 3 combined and thin black line after screw is position 6. Sloppy, but works just fine.

Just got my CV25/4 P from Stephen. Very sweet on the M8... I've been feeling the need for something wider than 28.

Yes, John Milich can modify the M-mount flange from a CV lens. he just finished my 40mm Nokton and I just got it back and reassembled. You have to remove the flange yourself and put it back together. Not too difficult.

Yes, John does very nice work. I got tired of the Sharpie marks wearing off and had John mill the 25p flange. Much more durable for coding. He also milled my Zeiss Biogon 35 flange for coding. The Zeiss had some locktite on the screws, so a bit more difficult to remove, but worked out just fine. Just curious how your 40 Nokton is working for you on the M8. I had one that I really liked when I had my R-D1, but it did not fit well on the M8. I had real problems trying to mount and focus because of the tight fit and binding.

I have not tested it yet. John also milled the flange to bring up the 35mm framelines instead of the 50mm ones. Will post and report once it is tested.

Resurrecting an old one here -but it was spot on!

I just received one of these CV 25 jewels and have yet to even try it on my M8.

I was curious regarding the coding as this would be the widest lens I have attempted to shoot on the M8 -the previous being an uncoded 35 Summaron.

The Elmar-M 24mm f/3.8 ASPH coding (110010) seemed a bit (bad pun) closer to the f4 of the CV lens than the aforementioned Elmarit-M 24mm f/2.8 ASPH (011001).

Has anyone tried this code? In the real world, would it make any difference at all?

Also, would coding preempt the use of the Cornerfix software or do they work hand-in-hand?

Thanks in advance!

On the M8, in practice coding makes little difference to CornerFix. On the M9, the recommendation is that you not code, as the M9 varies its correction with aperture. Which makes it more difficult to use just one CornerFix profile across all apertures.

Thanks Sandy.

The holidays have not given me an opportunity get anything done, yet.

I have, however, downloaded Cornerfix and will try to have a play tonight after a much needed sensor clean -again.
