I just purchased a 50mm Summicron made in 1997 for my M8 ( I am rebuilding my M lens collection. I sold my dual range Summicron ten years ago on a lens trade and I needed a 50mm for my M8). I am wondering how well has it been working for M8 users on this forum. I am sure quite well. I have the Canadian v4 35mm Summicon, and I am sure this will be a really nice addition to my collection as my 35 has been. If anyone wants to post some pics, that would be great!
PS: i was thinking about a Zeiss 50mm Planar, but for the same money, I found a mint 1997 50mm Summicron. I just wanted to be sure what I was getting would perform as well as Leica, and I said, why am I fooling around looking at other lenses, just buy the damn thing ($750) and do not look back!
