I just purchased a 50mm Summicron made in 1997 for my M8 ( I am rebuilding my M lens collection. I sold my dual range Summicron ten years ago on a lens trade and I needed a 50mm for my M8). I am wondering how well has it been working for M8 users on this forum. I am sure quite well. I have the Canadian v4 35mm Summicon, and I am sure this will be a really nice addition to my collection as my 35 has been. If anyone wants to post some pics, that would be great!
PS: i was thinking about a Zeiss 50mm Planar, but for the same money, I found a mint 1997 50mm Summicron. I just wanted to be sure what I was getting would perform as well as Leica, and I said, why am I fooling around looking at other lenses, just buy the damn thing ($750) and do not look back!

I would love to obtain a Summicron some day, and probably something like the version you have. But I'll just have to stay on the sidelines for now. Here's hoping owners pipe up and have nice photos to show us all.
