You both have valid points.. stop bickering.. Available light photography is superior on the Canon 5D due to lower ISO noise and availability of fast wide lenses. M8 is more compact and possibly lighter, and that has it's own advantages. The ideal solution is to buy both.

By the same token, the best trunks won't make the farmer know how to swim.
