In todays Daily Telegraph, there was a note saying there was a test of the M8 on "Telegraph TV". Unfortunately, I can't get it at work due to the filters but anyone that is interested should be able to access it from here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/portal/ttv/lifestyle.jhtml#

I think your firewall just saved you from wanting to punch your screen. The female reviewer is ok and has at least done a little research, but the guy's a moron. Apparently the camera sucks because, unlike his £400 DSLR, the lens is small and fiddly, there's no zoom, no pop-up flash, no grip and no auto-focus. So it's a rangefinder then? He also complains that it's not a proper point-and-shoot?!
It's a bit like someone reviewing a Morgan roadster and complaining that he can't get a grandfather clock in the back like he can in his Volvo.

Well, the review is set up so that the girl gives a contrasting view throughout - though not as well developed as I'd like. She gives it an 8, and it's made pretty clear that there are two ways of looking at it.
Then again, anyone who the M8 is not for should already know that it's not for them, if they even know of its existence. The review hasn't listed anything particularly groundbreaking.

Very....esentric, from an American/Chinese point of view at least. Although I guess its nothing I should be surprised about, I watch Top Gear and Faulty Towers all the time and love it. Those english, got to love em.
Anyway....its a pity that guy is so obsessed with auto focus and this and that toys. He misses the point of an M Leica. Oh well, I am still going to get one

We've seen this before - yawn. Anyway, I doubt that Leica depends on Telegraph blurbs to sell their gear.

He could have copied and pasted some comments on M8 threads on his report: "the beginning of the end for Leica", "Nikon D3 is <superlative adjective>", etc. etc.mr_phillip said:The female reviewer is ok and has at least done a little research, but the guy's a moron. I hope the d3 isn't as bad as the D200 who's autofocus is as off as it's color.

I met a man once...
I'm just amazed that guy didn't complain about the slow fps cont shooting mode offers with everything else he griped about.
