OK it's getting a bit obsessive, but here are the pictures of the LCD. You can see the menu etc.

Dude!! That's what I was just saying to myself!akptc said:Is it smaller than the M7 or does the guy in the pics have big hands? (just wondering..)
I hope to the supreme being (whoever that is to you) that everyone gets one so the prices of M2-M3-M4-M4P-M6-M7-MP's are within my poverty living standards.

The protruding lens release button might play havoc with large diameter LTM lenses. The Canon 50/0.95 conversion comes to mind immediately. The only reason that lens works now is because the current M release button is nearly flush with the body. Hmmmmmmmmmm.................

Eric, I think we're a bunch to hope that happens!
I've already got a beautiful M2, but my ultimate dream is ... no not the M8 ... but the MP (current version of course).

god bless those frogs.
the lens release button looks the same.
the blue dot is lit in the pic where's he's pushing the shutter button. maybe it's lit all the time when the camera is turned on. that's not very discreet.

Don't know about the sizeof his hands but he obviously chews his nails. Disgusting habit. Just like the UK's Prime Minister in waiting, Gordon Brown.

My M5s need red dots!
Which blue button?
Why am I staring at these pics? I just purchased chemicals for film processing...
Nice looking camera... especially for what it signals: a drop in price of other M bodies.
Can't wait to see what happens when the M9 hits the streets.

LOL
Just wanted to underline that RFF was the very first website in the whole world (and the whole universe, we can say that) to release the pictures of the M8!
So ... thank you Jorge!

There are not pictures of the bottom yet.
I would like to see one.
The lens in the pictures is not the 28/2,8 ASPH, but the old 28/2,8.
The lens of the video IS the new ASPH version!!!!

My Red Dot Glows For You
I'm not kidding when I say this, but somebody who handled it first hand told me (honest) that you remove the bottom plate for the memory card and the battery.erikhaugsby said:Yes, but is the baseplate still removable?![]()
I thought that was funny...somewhat; not entirely in a "ha ha" way. I'd like to see exactly how, though. We'll see.

This is soft porn at its finest. It is sobering to think that this desirable camera is worth more than my car. (which rules that trade out!) Oh well...I'm hoping that a great many Leica users who cannot afford to have several bodies will flood the market with good used MP's and M7's and M6's and we who cannot afford, or don't want, an M8, can finally realize our dreams, our fantasies when we drift off to sleep thinking about bodies...not of beautiful women (or men) but of Leicas!

Me too!
Think prices will go down? Unfortunately the only thing I have that might be worth enough to cover the price of an MP is one of my dogs, and she ain't going anywhere.
