Another M8 thread, I'm sorry.
I have just spoken to The Classic Camera (London's friendliest and most knowledgeable Leica dealer in my opinion).
They are expecting a sample of the UK's first final production M8 in the first two weeks of November and will be inviting all those on the waiting list for a private playtime. It will be after this, presumably, that one can confirm or cancel one's order.
I understand, thereafter, TCC will be receiving 15 M8's a month. This will clear their current waiting list by February 2007. However, it's been mentioned that I could creep up the waiting list significantly if I would be happy with a chrome model.

Well-known
So they have about 60 currently on their waiting list? That's consistent with what I'm finding here in the states with the well knowns Leica dealers -- about 50-60 on their waiting lists. I'm going to go out on a limb here and forecast that the short term financial future of Leica looks very good.
