I have need of connecting my M8 to studio strobes and would like to use the Pocket Wizard Multimax products, since I own several and the M8 does not have a PC terminal. Is anyone aware of any voltage or other issues that might exist by attaching a Pocket Wizard to the M8 hotshoe? I don't want to damage anything.

Thanks for looking

What is the voltage that the Pocket Wizard puts out? That would be a good starting point.

The pocket wizards won't harm the M8. In fact, the M8 and M9 are rated for up to 250v so you can use them with most old killer flashes like the Vivitar 283's. If you get into old flash use (like I'm dabbling in flashbulb use) then you have to worry about amperage since the M8 still can't take high amps & the current of the old flashbulb units is much higher with a low voltage.
All that said, the pocket wizards and their various knockoffs should all be safe since they only use a very small amount of voltage and current as signal to the radio emitter.

Have fun

Same here, use PW's all the time on my M8 at weddings when it gets too dark and also when I want some fill flash in the backgrounds. That's the great thing about PW's. I can use them on both my D3 and M8 and use the same Nikon flashes.
