M8 users that still use film?

I just love you guys.

First someone is rapped for making the straightforward point that, film or digital, it's all photography, something that's forgotten by the upgrade-obsessed, 'now' society.

Then the conversation careens off in the direction of Morgans and US regulations.
Well I did sort of mention film as well!:)

I like the Foma 200 as well particularly medium format, but if im getting that kit out I usually go for Adox 25.
Maybe I like the 'old' technology' of Foma 100. I think the main thing is I can enlarge the 35mm asa100 pretty big.

Have you done a side by side look at these two films? Someone must have, I really have not used much of the 100.

Most have said the 200 is really closer to 160, and a well known Czech photographer really liked the "late" ORWO 100 pulled.

Do not know what he is shooting now, perhaps there will be "plug ins" for the look of Foma 200 pull processed in Xtol, or the late lamented ORWO?

Speaking of nuts, the squirrels are in to the MG, am pretty sure they are analog though. ;-)

I have not done a side by side. Life is too short. The 100 certainly seems to be higher contrast. Not quite as subtle but the grain is a heck of a lot finer. I can enlarge it quite a bit more. I develop in ADOX APH09 which is a pre war formulation of Rodinal. Absolutely no complaints.

Dont know how to keep squirels of your MG, but can recommend Droll Yankee bird feeders. Totally squirrel proof and great fun to watch.

Know what you mean, seems ten years or so ago I once again got the energy to shoot gray cards and try some new combinations.

If I get to Croatia will stock up on 127 and perhaps some bulk 35mm film to put in deep freeze for the dark days of film hunting to come. Am surprised Kodak has not brought out yellow freezers specially for film. ;-)

I still have a sealed bottle of R09, the Foma, probably pre some war, Rodinal formula. You dilute it 1:40. I think B&H now sell it, have no idea what the precise effects of the variety of formulations of Rodinal are. Easy to keep and mix, if you have good graduated cylinders.

I dumped a box of moth balls in the MG last year, and think I need to put a few traps out, squirrels are just not so cute then the repairs mount close to $1000.
