My Leica dealer believes three M8 cameras were sent today from New Jersey today via 2-day air. He has 22 units on order so far. He continues to acknowledge that I'm #1 on his list.
We'll see what tomorrow brings. (For sanity's sake, I'm thinkin' Monday.)
It interesting to note the change in the dealer's level of enthusiasm over the past few months: when I ordered the gizmo some months ago, I could sense no one had talked to him about buying a NEW Leica M or R in quite some time. Now that he's handled the rep's demo unit, he's much more knowledgeable and positive.
A little micro example on what we all hope is happening all over the globe to similar Leica dealers. New products, new energy and new customers will propel Leica forward and save it over time.
