M8 Viewfinder Magnifier?

There is one other magnifier not mentioned so far - the Megaperls (now Japan Exposures) x1.15. Like their x1.33 magnifier, it has adjustable dioptre strength.

I found a x1.35 magnifier too strong, somewhat bulky and dimmed the viewfinder image too much (OK, I only tried the cheap eBay Chinese one, not the uber-expensive Leica one).

In contrast, the x1.15 magnifier allows the 35mm framelines to (just) be seen, and the smaller framelines are much more usable. Also, it's only 4mm thick, and, although it dims the viewfinder like all magnifiers (can't change the laws of physics!), I found the slight reduction in brightness a fair trade.

It's expensive (about £100) and out of stock. That said, I lost mine,* so put ads here and LUF, and had a reply within a morning, offering one for £60!

[* It screws very securely onto the camera - but I took it off and put it "somewhere safe", but despite looking for weeks I can't recall where that might be! :bang: ]

Buying a new one is a sure fire way for it to show up. ;-)

Thanks, John
