M8 w/ Hard to remove dust.

Hand Butterfly

Hand Butterfly

I haven't owned the arctic butterfly because I purchased it before it was available in the stores. However, when I saw the idea, I realized I can do it myself. I use the manual butterfly method. Just put the regular version in your palms and quickly rub your palms back and forth like that primitive fire starting method. No batteries required. Works like a charm. ;)

M8 Sensor Dust problem

M8 Sensor Dust problem

Hello Adam,

This is my first posting - new to the forum.
I too have an M8 and like you I have exactly the same problem. This is now my third M8. The first came from the shop with dust which I duly returned. The second M8 which I received as a replacement obtained dust with in a day and now the third also has dust (see image attached) which became apparent after only 50 shots.
I have only one lens, so I have not changed lenses.
It seems that this particular sensor (Kodak) is a magnet for dust!
I am about to go back to the shop to discuss this further, but regrettably I cannot see that there is a solution to the problem. I love the camera, but it is not a reliable tool for me with the sensor dust problem.
As a comparison, My Canon 5D, which I have had for over a year is still problem free, regardless of changing lenses and traveling extensively throughout India.
Appreciate any updates you or others might have on this.
