Or maybe they could release a limited edition hammer and sickle model that comes with a noctilux. When you buy it the noctilux goes to a less fortunate person that can't afford their own but needs and deserves one.

Certainly that's an idea you can get behind, Olsen!

The crisis we face now (both you and us) is far - far beond any party politics. It's a system failure. With the public debt you are accumulating you will never afford to build up a 'socialistic' wellfare state (for all, not just the rich). It will cost you an additional 30% on top of the 30% tax you are going to pay now. Forget it. Indebting a nation is a way of getting rid of, or prohibit the creation of, a wellfare state; check out Argentina and Israel etc.

Anyway; what will a Luftwaffe Leica be compared to Credit Crunch'er..he?

It's a system failure from greed. Crooks in Washington & crooks on Wall St. Capitolism works but greed is what brought the house down. This bailout won't work either.

Do your research.

Great stuff gb. As a scientist I also make sure my sources have some sort of credibility. More and more I fully understand how certain people of dubious knowledge or intelligence can be elected to govern us. I know, it has always been so, but it's just more noticeable these last 8 years.

It be a bit of a novelty item.
Then you and it would have a bit something in common :)

Speaking of something in common, has anyone else who watches the Simpsons noticed this similarity?;)

I think that thread should be stopped before the Americans and the Europeans start fighting about things they don't really understand - finance in the US ; "European welfare state".

Well said! What is it about the Internet that makes us think we are experts at everything?

If history is any indicator, this thread will continue until somebody steps over the line and the mods intervene. I will do my best to avoid being the one who instigates said line crossing.

Now now, only a few weeks to go before 1/2 of us are disappointed again.

In the mean time, no, we really will not have political threads, sorry, there are lots of places to do that other than our forum.

Oh, and check the facts.

There is lots of blame to go around for everyone, and unfortunately not too much truth being told by either side.
