M8 with 35mm Nokton 1.4 - Ideal black and white combo!

I just finally got my review up of this combination. I spent a lot of time with the M8 and 35mm Nokton 1.4 MC and have discovered two things.

1. The focus shift was not an issue at all in use. Actually in testing, my copy at least, really didn't back focus to the point of being a problem.

2. Color with the lens was not my thing...but black and white is awesome. I don't know if I have used a lens that I love so much in black and white!

I wish I had access to a single coated to really compare! Does anyone else's experience reflect this?
 
Hi... Thanks for sharing your observations, nice review. I too have not noticed any focus shift in my SC version, but I have not looked for it either. Color and sharpness seem fine too. Mine was hard-coded by hand with a rotary tool as a Summilux ASPH by its previous owner, and I've used the LH-6 hood and B+H UV/IR cut filter. FWIW, the lens elements are shaped and arranged similarly to the classic 8-element Summicron 35. Here's a shot from it on the M8:
