Nothing special here, but most of these were around .8m or so. This is just a shim made out of a credit card between the J3 lens and the LTM/M adapter.
Great lens. I think I'll keep the shim on for awhile, though I do lose focus beyond about 10-12 feet. The lens flares at times (I had a generic heavystar 40.5 vented straight hood on), but otherwise is very sharp, with nice bokeh. Some distortion though. Most were wide open, a couple stopped down to f2 or f2.8:

I love using the J-3 close in like this. It is possible to modify the J-3 to focus this close without the shim.

It's not hard, remove one stop-screw and file the threads a bit.

This is a good J3, some minor cleaning marks, but focus has already been shimmed for the Leica spec, possibly by you in the past. The RFF member I bought it from thinks it was, but he didn't have the mod done, he bought from another RFF'er, so this J3 (aluminum silver) has been around).
I am not up to doing the filing myself. It would most likely end up a parts lens.
