I did a story for the NY Times on an interesting new debt law in Ireland. I am not one of their photographers, but they nevertheless decided to use some of my shots. You can find a link to the published stuff (and a few others) here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/eavis/8071043501/in/photostream
I always shoot film as an amateur, but I took my Leica M8 and a 24mm Elmarit for this trip.
Cheers,
Peter

(Nice to know that even one heckuva dirty M8 sensor can't get in the way of talent and its recognition!)

I know, that sensor was FILTHY. I am too scared to clean it, in case I make it worse. Any tips on safe methods/products?Congratulations!

Hi Peter,
congratulations, I saw your pictures in the article of my "lunch paper", I have to admit I didn't care to read the article though.
As for cleaning the sensor, first follow the manual instructions to set the camera to cleaning mode, blow with a duster (canned air is not recommended but always use it) if this doesn't help you will have to do some wet cleaning with methanol and lint free cloth. There are plenty of instructions available just google "camera sensor cleaning". Use common sense i.e. don't soak the cloth just wet it slightly, don't touch the sensor with your fingers and be very gentle with the cloth wrapped around some spatula - or use commercial swabs.

Well done, Peter! I read your piece in this morning's print edition--they ran it on page one, with a couple of your photos on the inside of the business section.
