M8 + ZM25 close focus coupling

Dug around and couldn't find an answer -

I recently got the ZM25, which focuses down to 0.5m
Previous closest focusing lens was 0.7m...

When mounted on my M8, the rangefinder de-couples around 0.65m.

Is this normal? If so is it the lens or the camera exceeding its min coupling?

Note my infinity focus is on (with all lenses, distant objects align @ infinity) and the close range focus is accurate as well (tested with 50/1.4 lenses).

Yes, some lenses can be focussed closer. Note that at close range the lens-distance cam disengages from the body RF-follower wheel, if you understand what I mean: the lens moves forward. Thus there is no damage to the RF mechanism at all.



Here is a photo I took with the Voigtlander set at 50 cm: it is occasionally convenient to have (even if one has to 'guestimate' the distance).
