I have just received my new half-case from Luigi and the man has outdone himself again. I asked for a simple black half-case with a tweak:
Yep, he added a cutout for the Thumbs Up! I sent Luigi some pics of the TU Mod 1 on my camera and Tim Isaacs sent him some more showing the overlap on one of his standard cases and the master craftsman has adapted his design. My M8 feels safe now.

Luigi kept a nice uniform line around the view finder and the TU. Looks very tidy and functional.
How sturdy does the case feel with the display cover opened?
I like the black, black and black on the black M8.

The cutout does not detract from the sturdiness of the case in any way that I can detect. I also had him add the tripod screw so I wouldn't have to disrobe my M8 to mount it on a tripod. The tripod mount adds immensely to the solidity of the case and is flush mounted on the bottom of the case.
