M9: 16 or 14 bit?

Dpreview says 14 bit capture in its review as opposed to the Leica brochure(16 bit). Any thoughts?

Should make the files as good as the DMR ones, which are arguably the best in the 135 class. Talking base ISO here.

Hem... I read in the DPReview hands on that they talk of a Compressed DNG of 8 (EIGHT) bit instead of 16.. is this a fattened JPG or just a typo?
