I loved my M-E, warts and all until I took it to SE Asia and the sensor disintegrated within months. Years later, I still shoot with the Epson R-D1x, which keeps chugging. Cheers, OtL

Thank you Richard. This was taken around 10 years ago with my original M9…which I stupidly sold. I now have an M10, which I’m not thrilled with, and have recently added an M-E typ 220, which I much prefer. I strongly suspect that the M10’s days are numbered.Just the posture of the near fielder, and the others, could place this any time in the last 150 years almost. One for the wall.
Hello d_b, apologies for the slow reply, and thank you for commenting. This was shot 10 years ago and suspect it was a jpeg. I dont think my processing skills were very great at the time…hence the banding!Beautiful photo! I love the foggy atmosphere. But it seems like there is some visible banding in the sky. Was this process from a RAW file or a jpg?
Just wondering, why are you not thrilled with the M10? I've considered the M10 and M11 as possible upgrades to my M9, but budget and considerations of the M9's unique 'look' hold me back.Thank you Richard. Hello Richard, I didn’t mean to suggest that the M10 isn’t an excellent camera, because it most certainly is (and it’s beautifully built), i just prefer the output from the M9 (M-E). I also prefer the ergonomics of the M9. It fits my hand nicely and I prefer the thumb wheel for making adjustments, and the limited menu.Just wondering, why are you not thrilled with the M10? In other news, here's a M9 photo from a couple of years ago, at a restaurant in Melbourne. For whatever reason, I had the M9 + Summicron 50 and Elmarit 28 asph with me, and the Panasonic G9 with Olympus 25mm f1.2. The Pana/Oly combination produced lovely images, but the M9 was just... a little something else.

That’s in the lane near Bathurst Station, isn’t it? It’s a nice piece. I hope it remains in good condition.
Yes it is. Ailthough I live nearby, I don’t think I’d walked there before. That’s in the lane near Bathurst Station, isn’t it? It’s a nice piece. I hope it remains in good condition.

Excellent images. On your Flickr page you mentioned you drove to these vantage points. Did you have to do much hiking as well? As an old 'fella, it'd be nice to see this in person but a man has to know his limitations 🙂
Thanks! I share the same age related limitations. So my girlfriend and I would spend the day driving around the valley looking for photographic opportunities that were easily accessible from the main road. All three of these shots were made within about 50 feet of the car, right on, or just a few feet off, that main road that runs around the valley floor.Excellent images.
